Lofgren rose in opposition to H.R. 1766, The NTIA Policy and Cybersecurity Coordination Act, stating that the bill would waste taxpayer dollars by duplicating activities already authorized by Congress and would blur the lines between NTIA and NIST on cybersecurity issues.

Lofgren introduced and spoke in strong support of H.R. 1326, the DOE and USDA Interagency Research Act, a bipartisan bill that would authorize collaborative research and development between the Department of Energy and the U.S. Department of Agriculture on crop science, biofuels, carbon storage, and precision agriculture technologies.

Lofgren spoke in support of H.R. 1325, the Commercial Remote Sensing Amendment Act of 2025, stating that the legislation amends existing statute to conform with updated regulatory guidelines and directs reporting to Congress on commercial remote sensing licensing carried out by the Department of Commerce.

Lofgren shared the account of a Federal scientist who was terminated from the CDC's Laboratory Leadership Service program and called for the firings of Federal science agency employees to stop.

Lofgren urged the House to focus energy on supporting firefighters, businesses, and families impacted by the Los Angeles County fire without conditioning disaster aid on politics, and stated that Democrats had voted for disaster aid to Republican-led states in December and must not discriminate now during California's time of need.
